I'm back! Did you miss me? I hope all is well with you and your webcomic project(s).

I made an executive decision back in May to move some of our webcomics from Champion City Comics to Tapastic, a site that hosts webcomics. In the past we had posted some of our webcomics to DrunkDuck, another site that hosts webcomics, and DrunkDuck gave us more exposure than our Champion City Comics page, which was nice but also somewhat frustrating.

It was my goal from day one to get people to stop by Champion City Comics to read our webcomics. All of our titles are posted as embedded PDF files, and that has been the number one complaint from some readers. They did not like scrolling down an embedded PDF to read a webcomic, but I have provided tips on how to read our titles in a comic book format, which is better than scrolling. Somehow those tips were overlooked by the complainers. Zoinks!

Why did we move to Tapastic? We had success at DrunkDuck, but I wanted to try Tapastic because it was the new hotness in webcomics hosting. Also, I forgot my password at DrunkDuck and when I hit the FORGOT PASSWORD link at their site the page turns into a mess of HTML code. I clicked the link to email DrunkDuck directly and I have been waiting for MONTHS for DrunkDuck to respond to my emails for assistance. Thanks.

The first comic I posted at Tapastic was The Red Devil, which was our most popular title at DrunkDuck. The Red Devil has been at Tapastic since May 8th and has earned roughly 1,230 pageviews. We are gaining a following and our fans should be pleased to know that we are developing two more stories for The Red Devil.

Tapastic like DrunkDuck is very friendly to webcomic producers. Tapastic did reach out to me to join their Facebook page for webcomics creators, which has been a great experience. Tapastic like DrunkDuck has a great layout for webcomics, so they are easy to navigate. Take that, embedded PDF haters!

My Tapastic experience has been going well and am in the process of adding three more webcomics to the site. If you are a webcomics creator looking for a site to host your work then look no further than Tapastic.

I've never played Dungeons & Dragons or Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. My roommates in college played the game, but they were advanced players and not interested in having some newbie like me join their campaigns. However, they were totally fine with me joining some other RPGs (role playing games) like Star Wars, Vampire, and Robotech. I really wanted to play D&D or AD&D because I wanted to go up against the Warduke.

It might have been Christmas 1983 when I received the Warduke action figure, which was one of the 'evil' characters from the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons toy line from LJN. I have no recollection of who the gift was from, but it was a totally awesome action figure. I was doing the RPG thing at the time but I watching the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon which was pretty cool.

The action figure was - and still is - incredibly cool. The helmet is awesome and I love that you can not see the face but a couple of red glowing eyes. Another impressive detail in my opinion is that the guy wears one half of a chainmail type of armor while the other part of his body is totally exposed. The Warduke action figure came equipped with a sword and a shield.


Warduke was used to battle action figures from my Star Wars, G.I. Joe, and Masters of the Universe collection. I have no idea what happened to him, but I'm 95% certain Warduke met a certain fate during my parents infamous 1989 garage sale. Many action figures and comics of value were sold for $.25 a piece.

Champion City Comics artist, Joe Haemmerle, has a new painting to share with the faithful followers. This Ghostbusters painting is currently featured at Trudy's North Star, a restaurant in Austin, TX. Venkman, Stantz, and Spengler in the house!

I have started a new series at The Two-Headed Nerd Comic Book Cast site called The Tales of The TD-Dubs. My first article is titled 'The Zero Bidders of The Transformers Universe' and it deals with my experiences selling vintage action figures from the 1980s on Ebay. Champion City Comics launched during the month of October in 2009. I am pleased to announce we have hit 190,000 page views. I know we will hit the 200,000 page view mark sometime this year. My goal is to hit 250,000 views by the end of the year. 

Yesterday we added The Red Devil to Tapastic and here are the results. We had 86 pageviews, one person favorited our comic, and there were no comments. Having 86 page views on the first day is nice, and I'll add some more pages on Friday to get more people interested in the series.
