MIDDLEBURRY

I thought I would share a webcomic that debuted at Champion City Comics last year. Middleburry was a superhero crime story that I was working on with an artist by the name of Beniamino Delvecchio. The story ended after a few pages, but I am looking for artists to continue work on this series. You can contact me at if interested.

Overview: Charlie Moore is a skilled thief blessed with the gift of invisibility. Charlie steals cars, jewelry, and drugs and holds them for ransom and uses the money to pay the medical bills of his mentor. One day, Charlie steals a suitcase of drugs and soon discovers he stole from a very dangerous cartel.

Recommended if you like: Criminal mixed with some almost-superheros

WE WILL SEE YOU TODAY AT THE CHAMPION CITY COMIC CON

 Update: TonyDoug Wright and Bret Kinsey will be in attendance at the Champion City Con on Saturday, September 10, 2011. Be on the lookout for people wearing Champion City Comics stickers!!

After thirty years of reading comic books and two years of running this webcomics site, I've decided to make my first appearance at a comic book convention also known by the all-too-familiar term, "con". "It's twue" in a Madeline Kahn kind of way that I should have made an appearance at a con during my lifetime, but I'm Generation X, a true slacker. It's time to make up for lost cons.

Saturday, September 10, 2011, I will be back in my hometown of Springfield, Ohio to experience the third annual CHAMPION CITY CON at the Shouvlin Center which is located on the campus of Wittenberg University. The event will be held from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. Admission is $4.00 per person, while children under the age of 12 are free as long as they attend with a paying adult. Guests include Tim Seeley, Marc Sumerak, and Daniel Leister.

If you've been paying attention then you will have noticed that Champion City Comics and the Champion City Comic Con have a Springfield, Ohio connection. Why? Springfield was home to a company that developed a "Champion" brand of farm equipment and we were dubbed The Champion City. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

COMING SOON: COALWATER

Champion City Comics is pleased to announce that we are launching yet another title during the upcoming months. Coalwater, a Western-style tale, come from the creative team of Hugh Orr and Will Harris was submitted for review early in August and it will definitely be an exciting addition to our webcomics community.

Synopsis: Coalwater is a town ravaged with little-to-corrupt law enforcement. Established circa 1826 in Ohio, Coalwater quickly became a ghost town within a decade. The town experienced a resurgence in 1861 when coal, copper, and iron deposits were discovered. Coalwater's rebirth led to an economic boom which led to widespread violence. We know you'll enjoy this action-packed epic so check out the cover below.

Overview: Nick Hamilton, a former small-time criminal, is on a serious revenge mission to kill Frankie Paradise, a notorious mob boss responsible for the death of an innocent man and his family. Joining Nick on his mission is Marshall Jackson, a weapons dealer, and The Kid, a teenage prophet and gun for hire. Nick, Marshall, and The Kid must take out Paradise's henchmen in order to get to their main target, Frankie Paradise.

Synopsis: New Ravenwood, Ohio, also known as The Champion City, is full of crooked cops, pushy dames, untouchable crime lords, and gun-wielding vigilantes that can travel time. Two clean cops, Johnny Magnum and Andrea Hammer, are on a mission to put an end to the crime and corruption in The Champion City by enlisting the help of a retired cop and a patient from an insane asylum.
