STUFF MY KIDS DREW: ROLLERCOASTER FAMILY PORTRAIT

I have some new drawings by my children to share with the faithful followers of Champion City Comics.

The first drawing is of a roller coaster, which was done by my son who is my six years old.

My three year old daughter drew a picture, which I'm certain is a picture of someone from our family at an amusement park.

GOING BACK TO THE LONGBOX: G.I. JOE

I've decided to re-read some of my favorite comics, and I have a nice stack of G.I. Joe comics waiting at home for me to read them this week. Why do I love G.I. Joe comics? These were the comics of my youth, but this is not just nostalgia because these comics were written by the great Larry Hama. Marvel Comics decided to develop a comic book based on Hasbro's toy line, and the job was given to Hama because all of the other writers at Marvel turned down the opportunity.

Hama did an amazing job of taking what could have been a silly toy inspired comic book and turned it into an excellent series for Marvel. I'll be writing more about these comics in upcoming posts so stay tuned to Champion City Comics.

GREETINGS FROM WEBCOMICS LAND: FREE FORM COMEDY IMPROV JAZZ WEBCOMICS

I launched Champion City Comics five years ago as a way to promote my webcomics and it turned into a cool community of webcomic and comic book creators. We have produced some very cool titles, which can be found under the 'READ OUR COMICS' tab. Lately, we have hit some proverbial speedbumps and I apologize for not updating the site on a daily basis.

There have been times when I've tried to develop a weekly schedule for Champion City Comics, but I end up scrapping that idea and replacing it with a new schedule. That new schedule gets scrapped, I get frustrated with myself, so I start a new schedule. Maybe having a schedule is not the best method at this time. My mind is always racing with random thoughts and ideas, so maybe it's best that I just post random articles, reviews, essays, etc. Think of Champion City Comics as free form jazz. Don't think of us as free form jazz if you hate jazz. Think of us as improv comedy. Don't think of us as improv comedy if you hate improv comedy.

I'll do my best to keep you crazy kids coming back to Champion City Comics.
