The Red Devil and The Curse of Tragg Magnar - A Webcomic Series

Who likes pulp comics or those awesome action and adventure packed comic strips?

We have a brand new Red Devil story for our fans. The Red Devil and The Curse of Tragg Magnar is an exciting new adventure for The Red Devil and Kid Diablo, agents of The Danger Bureau. Did you read the first series? If not, then click here to read the first episode of The Red Devil.

In this story, Red Devil and Kid Diablo must protect Dr. Khatria Durani who has knowledge of a weapon which will destroy the infamous demon named Methalius. The Red Devil and Kid Diablo must act quickly to stop two of Methalius' agents who are in pursuit of Durani.

THE RED DEVIL: A WEBCOMIC SERIES

Synopsis: Dublin O'Darby (The Red Devil) is an international crime-fighter who works for Sebastian Coronado, the director of an organization dedicated to combating cartels of evil. Joining The Red Devil is teenage sidekick Charlotte Murphy (Kid Diablo). In the exciting first issue, Red Devil and Kid Diablo track down a dangerous ninja, Silent Noise, who has stolen a mysterious ring which once belonged to a diabolical group of demon worshipers known as the Order of Methalius.

RED DEVIL NEWS!

There are some personnel changes for The Red Devil, our original webcomic series. Artist Erik Roman is taking time off from the story, but is being replaced by Joe Haemmerle who has been our artist in the past. L. Jamal Walton is now handling the color work for our story. Cristian Docolomansky will continue to do the inking while Magnus is our letterer.

I would like to share with you an upcoming panel that was pencilled by Joe Haemmerle and inked by Cristian Docolomansky. Enjoy!

THE RED DEVIL AND STEAMPUNK!

Champion City Comics is currently working on a 64 page full-color steampunk anthology that we will self-publish this year. We know you are excited and we will keep our fans posted on a regular basis. Champion City Comics team members are working on their projects and we even have Steve Bryant of Athena Voltaire fame on board as our cover artist. Do we have anything else to report? YES! Part of the steampunk anthology will include a brand new story featuring our super-sexy crime-fighter The Red Devil!

Erik Roman, the artist for The Red Devil, is working on a pulp inspired comic with Steve Bryant, the artist for Athena Voltaire. They will be posting some completed pages at Champion City Comics, and we are very excited to see what they have in store for our fans. WEBCOMIC WEDNESDAY: UPDATE FOR OCTOBER 5, 2011

We have an update for The Captive by Victor Pozzi, but we also have a new title to add to the Champion City Comics family. The Red Devil is a new action-packed series that draws influence from the pulp comics and is a creative effort by TonyDoug Wright (writer), Erik Roman (pencils and inks), and Joe Haemmerle (colors and lettering). We plan on updating this title EVERY Wednesday, so you can expect page three next week. We hope you enjoy this title!

THE CAPTIVE

We are excited to continue The Captive based on the 1837 poem, La Cautiva, by Esteban Echeverria. Brian and Maria have been captured by a group of Mapuche marauders and fear for their lives. Maria is able to steal a knife from one of her captors and plans a daring escape with Brian.

COMING SOON: RED DEVIL

If you have ever wondered if there is a headquarters or a home city for Champion City Comics, then the unofficial answer is Portage, Michigan, which is located outside of Kalamazoo, Michigan. I'll talk more about the origin of Champion City Comics in future posts. I have been fortunate to work with two Kalamazoo area artists since our website launched in 2009, Josh Dahl and Erik Roman. Josh was the head writer for webcomic Rapid City and will be a frequent contributor for future articles. Erik will be the penciller for an upcoming pulp inspired webcomic series titled Red Devil. 

Red Devil is an international crime fighter who takes on the world's most dangerous villains while accompanied by her teen sidekick, Kid Diablo. Red Devil will be an action-packed webcomic series that will pay homage to the classic pulp adventures and will be fun for the whole family. Currently, our plan is to launch the webcomic during the month of September 2011 and may feature daily updates.

TonyDoug Wright will join the creative team as the lead writer and Joe Haemmerle will be the letterer and colorist. Below is a little teaser of what you can expect in the upcoming months.
